A few days ago, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region issued the "Regulations on Energy Efficiency of Civil Buildings in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region", which will be implemented on January 1, 2017. A total of eight chapters and forty-two articles have clarified the “five areas” of energy conservation for civil buildings: energy conservation in new buildings, energy conservation in existing buildings, energy conservation in building energy systems, promotion of green buildings, and application of renewable energy buildings.

Among them, in Article 32 of Chapter VI “Application of Renewable Energy Buildings”, it is clarified that “the people's government at or above the county level shall encourage and support the use of solar energy, air energy and shallow ground in the energy-saving renovation of new buildings and existing buildings. Can wait for renewable energy." This shows that following Beijing, Zhejiang, Fujian, Hefei, Anhui, and Hebei, Guangxi officially explicitly included “air energy” into the renewable energy category. Since then, the promotion and subsidies of air-energy heat pumps in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region will be law-abiding.

Regarding the promotion of the inclusion of air heat energy in the field of renewable energy, Shi Wenxing, a professor of the Department of Building Technology at Tsinghua University, recently stated in the industry forum that heat pumps are excavators for renewable energy. Air heat energy is different from conventional fossil energy. It is a form of energy that is sustainable, almost inexhaustible, does not produce or rarely produce pollutants, has no damage to the environment, and is beneficial to a virtuous cycle of ecology. Air source heat pumps, especially low-temperature air source heat pump technology, have developed rapidly and will face opportunities in China's heating technology field, which is expected to replace some coal-fired products and contribute to China's energy revolution.

Professor Wu Desheng pointed out the "preface" for the book "Design of Small Air-Condition Heat Pump Installations": "For air source heat pumps, although the current "air source" is not included in the "renewable energy catalogue" and cannot receive policy subsidies, However, the essence of the air source is indeed a “renewable” high-quality energy source. It is only a temporary shortcoming of the policy. Its environmental characteristics are enough to foresee its great development prospects.”
