Over 60% growth, the heat pump market broke out

Air source heat pump heating in the first half of the year, domestic sales of 1.31 billion yuan, an increase of 1847.8%, sales of 111,000 units, an increase of 1689.7%.

A series of figures are validating the dramatic changes in the air source heat pump market in the first half of 2017. The product pattern, regional pattern, and corporate structure have all been rewritten.


In the first half of 2017, the market share of air source heat pump heating jumped to 32.7%. Compared with 2016, it increased by 30%. Affected by the rapid development of heating products, the proportion of commercial machine products increased rapidly. In the first half of 2017, the proportion of commercial aircraft reached 54.6%. In the same period last year, the proportion of commercial aircraft was only 35.6%. In the overall regional layout in the first half of the year, the northern market became the biggest winner. The share of the northern market soared from 10% in the first half of 2016 to 40% in the first half of 2017. The year-on-year growth of the northern market exceeded 500%, reaching 571.6%. The rapid growth of the northern market is more due to the breakthrough in the heating market, but there is no significant progress in the hot water market. In the southern market, as the main battlefield of air source heat pump water heaters, Hunan, Zhejiang, Fujian and Guangdong also achieved good performance growth. Among them, Fujian's growth is more unexpected. The number of in-situ steps in several years has recovered in 2017. Relying on the promotion of group brands such as Haier and Smith, the Fujian market has regained market share in the South China market. In addition to the surprises brought by the Fujian market, the Yunnan and Guizhou markets are not as unexpected as the expected growth. The reasons for the poor performance of the Yunnan-Guizhou market are related to the local market demand on the one hand, and the poor performance and poor performance of the brand enterprises on the other hand. However, the loss of the Guangxi market and the concentration of its market brands are not high, and many small and medium-sized brands have a certain relationship in transferring more energy to the northern market.


In addition to the strong support from the policy, the growth of the northern market has also played a crucial role in the joint advancement between enterprises and upstream and downstream. We have seen an increase in the number of companies entering the air source heat pump industry in 2017. The rapid growth of the market scale has attracted the attention of central air-conditioning companies, water heater companies and home appliance brands with technological strength and brand influence. Through an incentive policy such as coal to electricity, companies have a common goal. At the same time, upstream accessory companies have also seen such a market opportunity, their supply chain has been continuously improved, and the problem of low-temperature heating has been gradually broken.

It is estimated that the sales of air source heat pump in the domestic market in 2017 will reach 13.06 billion yuan, an increase of 66.2%. The sales volume will reach 1.856 million units, a year-on-year increase of 40.8%.


For the future development of the product, the industry online judgment, the future air source heat pump industry will gradually evolve from home to commercial to commercial development to industrial use. With the maturity of the application of hot water and heating market, the drying market has also been concerned by enterprises. From the current overall drying market, there are more SMEs and the market standard system is not perfect. The subsidy policy is only reflected in local areas as well as individual projects. However, its market growth has developed rapidly. It is expected that the drying market in 2017 will exceed 500 million equipment sales, an increase of more than 40%.


Affected by the coal-to-electricity policy, the heating market in the first half of 2017 showed explosive growth. However, from another perspective, the products for heating in the first half of 2016 are still in the tendering stage, and there is no growth in actual shipments. Therefore, for 2017, more substantial growth is mainly concentrated in the second half. The growth of the heating market in the first half of the year was mainly due to the shipment of Tianjin coal-to-electricity in the first quarter, as well as the shipment of Shunyi last year and some of the Beijing market. In addition to the growth of household heating, what needs special attention in the second half of the year is the engineering heating market with huge market potential. From the growth performance of some brands in the first half of the year, the engineering heating market has almost no involvement in 2016, and it can reach nearly 10 million sales in 2017, and its scale has grown by leaps and bounds.
