According to the data research of the heat pump industry, the total domestic sales volume of the air source heat pump industry in China (factory tax-included shipments) has exceeded 10 billion yuan in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 46.4%, breaking the 10 billion yuan mark for the first time.

"Coal to electricity" has become a wind, heat pump sales have increased

According to industry experts, the most affected by the “coal to electricity” policy is heat pump heating products. In 2016, more than 80% of heat pump heating sales were from “coal to electricity”, and this proportion will be even larger in 2017.

Industry insiders estimate that as the government purchased a large number of air source heat pump heating equipment to replace the original bulk coal heating, by the end of 2016, the number of air source heat pump heating equipment installed in Beijing and Tianjin alone reached 180,000 units, an increase over the same period of last year. The “Guidelines for the Promotion of Winter Clean Heating in Rural Areas in Beijing in 2017”, which is being drafted for comment, put forward new requirements for heating in 2017. According to the opinion, the areas of transformation and subsidies will be expanded, and agricultural facilities and village committees and other activities will be included in the scope of transformation. Adhere to air-energy heat pump heating, and “prohibit the promotion of direct-heating electric heating equipment and limit the use of energy storage heaters”.

The use of loose coal for heating is considered to be one of the causes of smog. According to the plan, in the next two years, Beijing will transform at least 260,000 households with coal-fired heating facilities to improve local air quality.

In 2017, the rural areas of Beijing will complete the “coal to clean energy” task for 700 village residents; in 2016-2017, the “coal to electricity” project in rural areas of Wuqing District, Tianjin, about 109,000 households use air sources. The heat pump will be installed and commissioned before October 30, 2017; the Hebei Provincial Government will issue the “Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Implementation of Baoding Langfang Coal-free Zone for Substituting Coal and Gas for Coal”, and by the end of October 2017, the coal-free zone will be completed. Centralized heating and coal-fired coal for raw materials are “cleared”, and the implementation of “coal to electricity” and “coal to gas” in the coal-prohibition zone will be able to enjoy a series of subsidy support policies; Shanxi Province’s financial funds actively raise funds at the beginning of the year. 37.5 million yuan, subsidies for 5,000 households of “coal to electricity” in Taiyuan, Datong and Pingyao Ancient City. 109 villages and 22,000 households will enjoy the comfort and safety brought by electric heating this year and next. The high-efficiency, energy-saving and environmentally-friendly air-source heat pump has gradually been favored by people in the ten-faced “霾”, and has received national recognition and policy support. With the vigorous promotion of the national “coal to electricity” operation, local governments have called for and recommended the use of air-energy heat pump heating, and Hebei, Beijing, Shanxi and other places have successively introduced substantial subsidy policies for air source heat pump heating.

After the market choice, air source heat pump heating has become the best solution for clean heating in the north. With the announcement of the government's procurement list of energy-saving products in 2017, the brands that were originally in the wait-and-see state have joined the coal-to-electricity army, and the air-source heat pump has further deepened in the northern brand, and the competition has become white-hot.

2020 heat pump water heater production value reached 50 billion

In addition to the subdivision of heat pump heating, the heat pump water heater market, which accounts for nearly 80% of the heat pump market share, has been favored by more and more consumers due to the energy-saving and environmental protection characteristics of new energy products, showing a steady growth in 2016. .

According to industry open data, in 2016, the total sales volume of heat pump hot water products in China was close to 7 billion, an increase of 10.3% compared with 2015. In 2016, domestic hot water equipment accounted for 73.7% of heat pump hot water equipment, and commercial hot water equipment accounted for 26.3%. Among them, domestic heat pump water heaters increased by 9.3% year-on-year, and commercial heat pump water heaters increased by 12.7%.

Although the growth in 2015 was not satisfactory, it improved in 2016. According to the survey, by 2020, the annual output value of heat pump water heaters will reach a high level of 50-100 billion, and the prospects are considerable. However, the current market share of heat pump water heaters in the water heater industry is not high, and the rough estimate is only about 5%.

Experts said that the reason for the small market share of heat pump water heaters is that they have just begun to develop. The history of electric water heaters, gas water heaters and solar water heaters traditionally used by households is much longer than it.

In addition, experts said that the heat pump water heater itself also has some shortcomings, such as the need for a large reserve of water heaters, which requires a large space. If a wall-mounted type can save space, the cost of the heat pump water heater will be higher. However, with the increase in urban consumption levels, such water heaters will be pushed faster in first- and second-tier cities because of the obvious advantages of energy saving, large water volume and comfort.
